“We are what we repeatedly do,

Excellence, then is not an act but a habit” -Aristotle

We all know Aristotle was the one of the greatest philosopher of all time and this quote is from Aristotle life defined itself Aristotle’s greatness, without further delay let’s we decode this quote.

Basically our identity made by our habits and habits made by repeated action. To convert those act to habit we must do it to the level of the excellence. then those act registers in our sub-conscious mind and it becomes flawless act that is called habit. when an act became a habit then things works itself or without our thinking. like if you want to become a writer then the act is writing, repeatedly, to the level of excellence. and then your habit is writing and you’ll became a writer.

“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able

to entertain a thought without accepting it”

Again a great quote by Aristotle, 350 BC his wisdom is use in 21st century.

Educate mind or person doesn’t mean who have degrees or any other certificate. A real education is ‘Able to entertain a thought’.

what does that means by entertain a thought.

Each and every discovery done by entertaining not by accepting. if scientist had accepted that molecules are the smallest entity in universe than they wouldn’t find atom. If Thomas Edison had accepted that bulb couldn’t by 10000 failure then bulb couldn’t invented. if Elon musk had accepted the fact that the rockets couldn’t be built by a private company then there would have been no SpaceX.

Last but not least

“Knowing yourself is the

beginning of all the wisdom”

Essence of the spirituality is knowing yourself, this quote shows us Aristotle’s greatness.

Knowing yourself is the beginning of all the wisdom, Simple and easily understandable quote, isn’t it?

If a quote is easily understandable, means you haven’t understood the value of their quote

when something looks simple, means there’s a hidden complexity underneath, let’s decode it

what does that means by knowing yourself,

it doesn’t mean your full detail or any type of certification

If i can give the answer of knowing yourself in one line, the sense of fulfillment or a sense of satisfaction.

what makes you satisfied, what makes you happy.

surely this quote is too much deep and honestly i haven’t sufficient wisdom to explain Aristotle’s great quote.

“I count him braver who overcomes his all desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the hardest victory is over the self.”

Brave man is not who haven’t any fear, but the who overcomes all his fear.

Desires is the most powerful emotion than the rest, and the one who overcome his desire easily can conquers enemies or in other words

The one who can conquer enemies but not able to overcomes his desire, then he is not the mightiest warrior. sooner or later he would die to fulfill their desires. In humankind or any species desire never get satisfied, we strive for more like A man want a car and he buys it, but he won’t get satisfied , after he strive for bigger one.

In Buddhism, before entering to it, you have to leave all your desires behind. first thing they do is leaving desires behind.

it’s more difficult to overcome thyself desire than conquering other’s desire.
